Common bulbul (Pycnonotus Barbatus), Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Lake Naivasha lies Northwest of Nairobi and is the only freshwater lake in Kenya's Eastern Rift Valley, spanning 139km. It is home to the Common Bullbul, found in abundance in South-East Africa. The fresh water makes Lake Naivasha an extremely valuable resource for agriculture, fishing and floriculture, which is a major industry around the lake. After completely drying up in the 1980's and having refilled slowly over time, the water level has begun to drop again, much to the concern of the inhabitants of the town Naivasha on the North East edge of the lake.
