Trade in plastic waste (2018)

By 2019 it had fallen by 46%, but new locations for overseas recycling and other disposal operations were opening up. India, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Vietnam have emerged as contenders (UNCTAD 2020; UN Comtrade 2021).
