Extreme rainfall events – Salween and Mekong

Extreme rainfall is increasing in the southernmost part of the Mekong basin and southern and southwestern part of the Salween basin, while extremes are decreasing in most parts of the central and southern parts of the Mekong basin. The trend is mixed over the northern part of the basins. Rainfall intensity has not changed significantly over time. The number of rainy days is increasing over the northern part of both basins and the southern part of the Mekong basin.
