Seagrasses Support Megafauna

The provision of shelter, feeding and nursery grounds are critical ecosystem services delivered by seagrasses worldwide, as evidenced by the high diversity and abundance of fauna within seagrass meadows. Many of these animals are of special interest and include threatened, endangered or charismatic species, in particular marine megafauna such as dugongs, sea turtles and sharks.
