The Indonesia High Integrity Blue Carbon Market project aims to provide technical support to Indonesia for the development of a robust and high-integrity national blue carbon market. Outcomes of this project include increased and verifiable carbon sequestration in coastal blue carbon habitats and measurable financial and meaningful benefits for coastal communities from blue carbon projects (e.g., the carbon market).
Activities of the project will include technical consultation and workshops with international and Indonesian blue carbon market stakeholders, including government ministries and community members, support informed decision making within Indonesia. This project helps to fulfill a request for technical support support from Indonesia to Norway regarding the blue carbon market and is facilitated through Norway's Ocean for Development program.
