Technical functions in a sustainable sanitation and wastewater value chain

There are different options available to reduce wastewater contamination. Wastewater can be reduced in volume and can also be treated to remove pathogens and pollutants that make it hazardous. Additionally, it can become a source of energy, plant nutrients and other agricultural inputs, as well as a source of water and many other valuable resources, bringing sizable economic, social and environmental benefits.
