Pakistan’s pangolins need more than armour
This story investigates the issue of illegal wildlife trade which poses a serious threat to pangolin in Pakistan. It unveils different networks, markets and people involved in this trade and sheds light on the scale of the issue. The author, Shabina Faraz, conducted interviews with smugglers, government officials, conservation NGO representatives, and members of local communities. The story proposes a way forward for the conservation and protection of this endangered species.
