01 Dec 2011

The Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate aims to embrace a wide constituency of readers in an innovative and compelling manner, highlighting the most significant environmental aspects of the Emirate. The Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate was developed to be different. It has been prepared to address this information gap, presenting information within a common story and narrative, interwoven with complementary stories, case studies, facts and statistics, illustrative figures, anecdotes, photographs and thematic maps that highlight the most significant environmental aspects of the Emirate. The Atlas was also designed to be highly accessible and communicative, presenting concepts and scientific information in a manner that is understandable to a wide audience.

The development of the Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate involved over 100 accomplished experts in their field from scientists to storytellers across 65 different organizations, all of whom have shared their knowledge, time and passion to make the Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate a bound account of the emirates history.

“The Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate captures the remarkable story of Abu Dhabi’s natural heritage in an innovative and compelling way, through it, we hope to promote a better understanding and greater appreciation for the unique natural heritage of the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Arabian Gulf region” Dr Jaber Al Jaberi, Deputy Secretary-General of EAD at the book’s launch.

A website for the Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate was also developed, and includes an education section, aimed at making learning as accessible as possible, allowing young people to get the training in a way that offers complete flexibility to learn when and where you want and at your own pace.
