Fishing boats and gulls in the harbour in Lofoten, Norway

The North-East Arctic cod, the world's largest cod stock, is found in the waters surrounding Lofoten. Fishing is as strong an industry as tourism in this region. Cod is feed on capelin, another fish, when they move towards the shore to spawn.
