I am a Norwegian journalist and communications expert, with a background in marine and environmental research.
Prior to joining GRID-Arendal, I worked as Head of Communications at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI), a research foundation focusing on international environmental, energy and resource management, politics and law. I have also worked as a Communications Executive at Gard, a global marine insurer.
With more than ten years’ experience working as a journalist in Norwegian media, including for VG, E24, and Dagens Næringsliv, I thrive when digging into new material, working on a deadline while finding engaging ways to convey key messages. My interest in sustainability and environmental issues also inspired me to apply for a student scholarship while working as a journalist. This enabled me to study environmental journalism at Stanford University, California, an experience which not only taught me a lot about effective storytelling but also brought me new friendships and collaborations across the world.
My role at GRID-Arendal involves developing and implementing communication strategies, marketing and media outreach, producing content and providing research support for the Polar and Climate programme.
