Peter Harris is Managing Director of GRID-Arendal. He came to GRID-Arendal after serving as a senior manager of the environmental division of Australia's national geoscience agency, Geoscience Australia. Peter Harris, a native of the USA, has a background in marine conservation and environmental science. He has worked on climate change issues in Antarctica as well as served since 2010 as Australia's member of the Group of Experts for the United Nations World Ocean Assessment.

GRID-Arendal is a centre collaborating with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Established in 1989 by the Government of Norway as a Norwegian Foundation, our mission is to communicate environmental information to policy-makers and facilitate environmental decision-making for change. We are based in Arendal, Norway and have an office in Ottawa, Canada.
