Water stress in the Tropical Andes countries
Climate change will dramatically reduce the capacity of mountain environments to provide water for drinking, sanitation, industries, mining, agriculture and energy. Temperature increase, precipitation patterns changes, glacial retreat as well as damage to wetlands and páramos will change the amount, timing and purity of water supply.
