Wastewater is responsible for emissions that are equivalent to the global aviation industry, with excess nutrients and pathogens polluting our environment undermining ecosystems, livelihoods and health. The good news is that we can make use of the nutrients and energy present in wastewater to turn a problem into a solution that is good for nature and climate change.
