UNEA 2 2016

Most of the world agrees on what needs to be done: We need to deal with climate change. We have to stop wildlife poaching. We must protect the oceans and to improve the lives of many of the world’s most vulnerable people.

To take the action that’s needed, the world will gather in Nairobi, Kenya for the second United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA-2) during the week of May 23rd. And GRID-Arendal will be there.

Our staff and partners are involved in critically important events and discussions about controlling plastic garbage in our oceans, how people are adapting to climate change in the Himalayas, and how to stop illegal logging and the destruction of some of our most important wildlife species. We’re also working on important reports on the African environment, and the how to connect gender and environmental decision making.
