We are happy to announce that the Proceedings of the Scientific Conference on Climate Change in the Caspian Sea region, which took place on October 27-28 2021, are now available in English and Russian languages. They feature a selection of scientific abstracts on recent findings related to climate change and its consequences for the Caspian Sea region as well as a list of recommendations for both the Caspian littoral states and academia.

GRID-Arendal continues to support the implementation of the Tehran Convention in collaboration with its Secretariat and the United Nations Environment Programme. As part of our general support, we contributed to the organisation of the Scientific Conference on Climate Change in the Caspian Sea region as well as the elaboration of the final proceedings.

The proceedings, coupled with other outcomes of the Conference, will support the Caspian Governments, regional actors and global stakeholders to take informed decisions in addressing climate change in the Caspian Sea region.

"The conference, which was first of its kind, laid a foundation for an effective scientific network in the Caspian region," remarked Valentin Emelin, Head of the Transboundary Governance and Environmental Crime Programme at GRID-Arendal.
