Jacqueline Sapoama Kumadoh, A Rocha Ghana

Jacqueline of A Rocha Ghana, presents a solutions to a challenge of overuse of mangroves for smoking fish. She describes how they worked with the coastal community of the Muni-Pomadze Ramsar site to co-develop a solution for replanting the mangroves, but providing alternative livelihoods in the face of declining fish catches. Fishermen are now reporting better fish catches due to the recovered spawning grounds. Bird recruitment and general vegetation have also improved.
