Chief Finance Officer
About the position
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of GRID-Arendal’s finances.
The Chief Finance Officer provides leadership and further improvements of all aspects of GRID-Arendal’s financial functions.
The Chief Finance Officer reports to Managing Director as senior strategic advisor and as member of the Leadership Team within GRID-Arendal. The Head of Project Support Office will report to Chief Finance Officer and the Project Support Office will provide administrative and financial support to Chief Financial Officer, as required.
Roles and Responsibilites
- Create the organisation’s annual budget for approval by the Board of Directors.
- Contribute to the leadership of GRID-Arendal as a member of the Leadership Team by providing financial advice and input and attend meetings, as required.
- Develope and maintaining the financial model for GRID-Arendal.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation
- Oversight of all the organisations financial aspects including procurement, financial risk management and financial monitoring including budgets and prospects.
- Maintain an overview of financial frameworks for all donors.
- Capable of having a holistic view of GRID-Arendal activities.
- Act as Managing Director and board secretary for the subsidiary Teaterplassen AS.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an externally recognised Management System for GRID-Arendal´s processes.
- Responsible for budgeting, controlling and external financing with credit institutions.
- Supervising and managing the Project Support Office.
- Complete regular 1:1 meeting with the Managing Director to discuss and plan learning and development goals.
Education and Qualification
- Master of Business and Administration, Master in Economics or Bachelor with a senior management experience as Head of Finance of an international organisation would be an advantage
- Excellent skills in Financial Management Systems
- Good knowlegde of accounting
- Good knowlegde of Norwegian Law related to business and finance.
- Good knowledge of Publci procurement
- Experience with international donors in the development field would be an advantage
