I have always wanted my career to be in a field that helps others. I have a bachelors degree from the University of Toronto where I had a keen interest in political science and primate conservation. I am currently finishing my masters in Global Development and Planning at UiA with a focus on the impact of fundraising campaigns on environmental causes.
In Canada, my personal and work experiences led me to the Canadian Cancer Society- the largest national charitable funder of cancer research. I also volunteered and worked with a variety of other not-for-profit organizations ranging from political campaigns, environmental causes to health charities.
As an intern at GRID-Arendal, I am working with the Environmental Crime program. Here I have had a focus on programs related to illegal fishing and fisheries crimes as well as the State of Environment report in the Caspian Sea. In this role, I want to apply my personal passion for development and social justice as well as gain invaluable work experience with an organization like GRID-Arendal.
