Mapping and communication
Developing innovative tools to communicate using maps
I am Greek, born in Thessaloniki, and currently taking a joint IGEON Master’s program in Geographic Information Systems and Earth Observation for Environmental Modeling and Natural Resource Management at Lund University, Sweden and ITC University of Twente, Netherlands. Through the master programme I got the opportunity to be a part of the GRID-Arendal team through a six months internship.
I previously studied Land and Rural Surveying Engineering at Aristotle University. During the last years, working on projects related to geographical analysis made me realize that my main interesting is the environmental aspect of geographical information systems.
My internship at GRID-Arendal gives me the opportunity to work with experts from all over the world and enhance my skills in GIS while participating in interesting projects that deal with the environment. More specifically, I am taking part in activities within the State of Environment and Spatial Planning programme, which includes web mapping, handling geographical data and the creation of maps and atlases.
