Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia) on Succisa pratensis, Froland, Aust Agder, Norway

The Silver-washed Fritillary is a common and variable butterfly found over much of the Palaearctic ecozone – Algeria, Europe, temperate Asia and Japan. In Norway the species occurs on the South coast west till Vest-Agder, but is not common.
