Drifting through a mangrove plantation in Bali

The variety of marine life which exists in and around mangroves provides many Indonesians with their livelihood, in fishing, gathering of crustaceans, to timber production. Unfortunately, mangroves here occupy coastal land that could otherwise be used in the tourism or farming industries and are being damaged by human development and pollution.
