The mission of the Regional Field Programme (RFP) is to provide environmental information for decision making in comprehensive forms, motivating its users for positive change. The regions of the RFP’s activity stretch from Africa, through the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Russia and the Caucusus to Central Asia.
The RFP strives to link the environment to other important issues such as poverty, security and economic development. The RFP focuses especially on assessments and overviews related to environment and security and facilitates processes aimed at finding solutions and taking action.
Key outputs of the RFP include:
Assessments - Integrated environmental assessments; rapid assessments; State of the Environment Reports; and national environment outlook reports produced in collaboration with regions, sub-regions, countries and cities.
Vital Graphics - A series of vital graphics publications on priority environmental issues.
Communications and Outreach - Electronic environmental information resources; outreach, publication and media support services to UNEP such as development of visual materials, organization of outreach events on findings of assessments, exhibitions for conferences, facilitation of lectures and media events, and technical publication services.
