SAVE THE DATE! 20 April, 14-15 CEST on Zoom

As part of their efforts to support the global policy discussions on a new global agreement to combat plastic pollution, the Nordic Council of Environment and Climate Ministers commissioned a report, to explore how to strengthen the science and knowledge base and to ensure evidence based policy-making.

In response to this, adelphi has prepared the report "Strengthening the Global Science and Knowledge Base to Reduce (Marine) Plastic Pollution". The report will be launched virtually and made available on Norden.org at https://pub.norden.org/temanord2021-519/ on 20 April.

Many have voiced their request for a stronger global science and knowledge base as a central feature in a new global governance architecture, while also emphasizing the need for a life-cycle approach to prevent and reduce plastic pollution in the environment.

The report is meant as a contribution to the global policy discussion and aims to inform policy-makers and others, on the need for a new scientific mechanism and by providing insights on design and institutional options to ensure effective science-policy.

Adelphi will present the report, followed by a moderated panel discussion.

The meeting will be hosted by GRID-Arendal on Zoom.
