27-28 August - Arendal, Norway - The GA Polar Programme convenes a meeting of Observers to the Arctic Council in order to prepare an "Arctic Vision" statement, which sets out a common vision among the observers for sustainable development in the Arctic.
This statement will feed into the Arctic Council's preparations for the Kiruna Statement to be ready in 2013. Visiting GA are members of the Arctic Parliamentarians group, Arctic Council Working Groups, and members of the 2013 UNEP Year Book Working Group.
