Members of GRID’s Polar Programme are attending the International Polar Year 2007-2008 Oslo Science Conference, taking place from the 8th to the 12th June. The IPY Oslo Science Conference is to demonstrate, strengthen, and extend IPY’s remarkable accomplishments in science and outreach – and is the largest ever gathering of polar scientists to take place, with over 2000 participants.
Apart from attending a wealth of interesting talks and sessions and the conference, the Polar Programme will take the occasion to meet with various partners to discuss on-going and future projects.
On Tuesday, GRID-Arendal and the University of the Arctic also launched the IPY Project Map tool, which allows institutions and individual researchers to map their institutions and projects in a geographic way across the globe.
