It’s with great pleasure we announce that GRID-Arendal has appointed new Managing Director. From 1992 to 2001 Prokosch was Director of WWF International’s Arctic Programme in Oslo, Norway.

“I am very much looking forward working again in the Northern environment, says Peter Prokosch. UNEP/GRID Arendal has important UN-mandates for the Polar Regions as well as for global environmental solutions. I believe that an international environmental spirit of Arendal and Norway can have a very positive impact on other parts of the world.“

“The Board is extremely pleased that we have recruited such a person with both strong personal qualifications and very broad work experience. He will without doubt open new doors for our work, both nationally and internationally”, says Olav Orheim, Chairman of the board in GRID-Arendal.

Prokosch got the position in competition with 140 candidates from over 40 countries. Prokosch is expected to start in his new position in November this year.
