Activities in this programme are the preparation of case study reports, stakeholder tours, learning materials and workshops.
This programme, undertaken with Statoil - a Norwegian oil company - is designed to:
- Synthesize and transfer specific information and knowledge on approaches to development in the Arctic that foster sustainability of natural resources, environment, biodiversity and cultures, and are sensitive to the needs of Arctic residents, and develop related programming and resource materials for private sector and government employees.
- Develop methodologies that are adapted to the challenges and needs of Northern Russia, with a goal of improving the success of Integrated Ecosystem Management (IEM) initiatives and associated community consultation, public participation, and conflict resolution.
