The Shore Lark breeds across northernmost Europe and Asia and in the mountains of southeast Europe as well as much of North America from the high Arctic south to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Within the former German-Soviet Environmental Agreement in the years 1989-1991 3 biological expeditions to the Taimyr peninsular in northernmost Siberia were performed.
