Only in the beginning of July suddenly the ice of the Taimyra river ice is breaking up: Different clinging and rumbling sounds of falling ice splints and turning and crashing blocks are clinging are filling the tundra atmosphere. The picture is taken during the 1989 German-Russian WWF-expedition close to the Taimyr lake and the Biranga mountains.
