The subspecies superciliosus is found in Madagascar, the Comoro Islands, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania and Mozambique (sometimes wanders to Zimbabwe). It is a fairly common non-breeding migrant (May-September) throughout most of its range in Kenya.
