Icebergs in Uummannaq, Greenland

Year: 2010 Taken by: Lawrence Hislop
The Arctic is a highly sensitive region that is being profoundly affected by the changing climate. Temperatures in this region are rising twice as fast at they are anywhere else in the world. Once in the water, icebergs are driven by ocean currents, and are usually directed by strong sub-surface currents which may even lead a iceberg heading upwind against strong winds.
