The Grey Plover is a long-distance migrant, breeding in the high Arctic of Russia and North America. Outside the short breeding period in the Arctic it has a nearly worldwide coastal distribution. Within the former German-Soviet Environmental Agreement in the years 1989-1991 3 biological expeditions to the Taimyr peninsular in northernmost Siberia were performed.
