The Pyasina River is a 800km long river in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia which flows into the Kara Sea and freezes over between October and June. It runs through the Great Arctic Nature Reserve. In the past the waters were a very rich source of fish. The Northern part of the River is now almost completely empty of fish since contamination from the Norilsk industrial district made its way into the water.
