The Borjomi-Kharagauli national park in central Georgia is the first national park in the Caucasus and one of the largest parks in Europe with its 75,000 hectares of land. Established with the support of WWF and the German government in 2001, the park is home to native forest, sub-alpine and alpine meadows as well as numerous rare and endemic species of fauna.
