Bear Island, Svalbard
Year:
2010
Taken by:
Peter Prokosch
The Svalbard archipelago is located in the Arctic Ocean, between the Norwegian mainland and the North Pole. Half way between the Norwegian mainland and the main island Spitsbergen the isolated Bear Island (Bjørnøya) is positioned. With its steep cliffs it hosts huge colonies of seabirds, such as Brünich's guillemots.
