IcelandIceland's "Green Economy"
The largest pillar of Iceland's economy is fishery. The country therefore has engaged in leading examples of making their fishery sustainable. The other main economic basis of the country are nature-based tourism and hydro- and geo-thermo-energy related industry. When today Iceland's politicians increasingly are talking about "Green Economy" one should take them seriously and look at Iceland as a country with high potential to develop leading examples of sustainable development. When the global society is developing "Sustainable Development Goals" Iceland may be challenged to demonstrate the way.
