this interactive web-tool provides citizens of Pskov and other interested users with mapped information about sources of air, water and soil pollution in the city
The pilot local environmental information system for the city of Pskov (Northwest Russia) on the interactive bi-lingual web-site, has been launched on the 2nd Meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention in Almaty. The electronic tool has been developed by the Environment Agency of England and Wales, based on its “What’s in Your Backyard” system, with support from GRID-Arendal and in cooperation with TEIA and Pskov Environmental Information Center (EIC). It provides citizens of Pskov and other interested users with information about sources of air, water and soil pollution in the city and thus creates a pre-course for the development of local Pollutants' Release and Transfer Registers in other cities.
