On behalf of the UNEP Shelf Programme managed by GRID-Arendal we are pleased to officially launch our new online Data Inventory Map solution of the One Stop Data Shop.
The official address of the introductory part is:
http://www.continentalshelf.org while http://maps.continentalshelf.org will bring you directly to the maps.
This map solution presently shows ship track lines from the NGDC/Geodas and SOC/SeaDOG databases as stick maps, as well as bore holes from the ODP/Janus database.
It will be extended with more stick maps as we collect data from other sources and are granted the permission to publish those online.
Please feel free to visit our site to see what we have available.
To obtain data from the One Stop Data Shop a formal request has to be made. The request should come directly from the ministry or governmental body formally responsible for the states extended continental shelf delineation project.
The request should contain information about
• Geographical coordinates for the area of interest
• Required data types
• Data format
• Means of transmission
The request should be made to requests@continentalshelf.org
Yours sincerely,
Steinar Sørensen
Director GRID-Arendal
