UNEP project to integrate environment into Afghanistans development strategy
At the request of the Transitional Islamic Government of Afghanistan, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) together with the European Commission and the Ministry of Irrigation, Water Resources and Environment (MIWRE) today announced a 4.27 million programme to promote good environmental governance and to support the rehabilitation of the countrys environment.

GA launches third Environment Times
The Polar Environment Times No 3 was launched at the Arctic Marine Strategic Plan workshop in Reykjavik, Iceland. The Polar Environment Times features articles from several of the ministers that went to Svalbard in August, views on Antarctica and a story on NATO bombing Saami ranges in northern Norway. GA at UN Day in Stockholm
GRID-Arendal is organizing an event in Stockholm together with the other Swedish UN-organizations on the UN day 24 October. On the evening of 23 October there will be a reception with presentation of the UN development goals. The second day will see a seminar, with a focus on global trade agreements, and the world 'beyond Cancun'. Honored guest will be Kamal Malhotra, trade expert at UNDP.

Watch the launch of the UN House in Arendal
Norway's first UN House was launch 2 September in Arendal by Borge Brende, the Norwegian Minister for the Environment, Svein Tveitdal, Divisional Director in UNEP, GRID-Arendal and local representatives.
