GRID-Arendal was awarded a "Grønt Stipend" ("green scholarship") amounting to NOK 420,000 by the County of Aust-Agder to develop the web-based prototype for a collective transport system - a private car-pooling scheme - that would be a first for Norway. Inspired in part by successful projects in Germany and the US, the project's objective is to reduce the negative environmental and socio-economic effects of private transport in the region.
