Rainwater partitioning in India

Description:
India is facing a food supply challenge with more than one billion inhabitants, and out of them 35% below the poverty line. This analysis of the rainwater partitioning show that there is room for India to use more water than the current status, to increase food production, and ultimately reduce poverty (MDG1)– while still retaining healthy aquatic ecosystems (11% of the rainwater needed for MDG7). A similar analysis conducted for Kenya show, for instance, much more narrow margins.
