Description:
This graphic shows the amounts of hazardous wastes and other wastes, in tonnes, imported to Switzerland from other countries in 1997. The amounts are based on export data and the graphic shows that the following countries imported hazardous wastes and other wastes to Switzerland in 1997: Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria. It shows that by far the largest amount of waste was imported from Germany. This graphic should be compared with Figure 20, which is based on import data and is located at http://www.grida.no/db/maps/collection/basel/20.pdf.
