Note:

Disability-adjusted life expectancy (DALE) years are a measure of years lived minus an estimated percentage for each year lived in incomplete health. The number of years lost have been arranged according to the main pressures of food, water, and vectorborne diseases; poverty only; and life-style. Please note that DALE years are different from DALYs (disability-adjusted life years) as used by the World Bank (Murray and Lopez, 1996).
