Capacity Building

In order to strengthen the use of environmental assessment reports in policy-making, a pilot project was completed in 2010 to repackage findings from a number of Ugandan environmental assessments into a handbook that highlight key pieces of legislation and research materials as well as policy gaps and overlaps. The overall purpose of the handbook Uganda’s Environment and Natural Resources: Enhancing Parliament’s Oversight is to guide parliamentary debate and the formulation of environmental laws and policies, thereby strenghtening the oversight function of the Ugandan parliament.
